We are dancemakers, story tellers, and thinkers, seeking to raise the profile of modern dance in D.C. Through collaboration and performance, we challenge our bodies and minds to create meaningful art that evokes emotion and makes audiences think. We value a collective process that draws together people from diverse artistic backgrounds. We are Glade Dance Collective.

Congratulations to all our 2017 NACHMO DC Artists!

January was NAtional CHoreography MOnth (NACHMO). NACHMO is a challenge to create a dance in just 31 days. Check back for more photos, video, and reviews.

About nachmo

To quote the founders, Sharyn Korey and Anna Brown Massey, ❝For one month each year, we put aside our excuses, our hesitations, and perhaps our day jobs to work intensely on making dance.❞

Started in New York in 2010 and inspired by National Novel Writing Month, NACHMO pushes dancers to choreograph by challenging them to create a new work in just one month. Since 2010, NACHMO has expanded from New York to include Boston, San Francisco, DC and other regions.

NACHMO DC began in 2014 through a partnership between Glade and New Street Dance Group. Now in its third year, we are excited to continue to help DC artists kick off the new year with dance.

Check out the NACHMO DC YouTube channel to see some of our past creations!

We  are grateful to our 2017 partners, whose resources are making NACHMO/DC possible:
