To quote the founders, Sharyn Korey and Anna Brown Massey, ❝For one month each year, we put aside our excuses, our hesitations, and perhaps our day jobs to work intensely on making dance.❞
Started in New York in 2010 and inspired by National Novel Writing Month, NACHMO pushes dancers to choreograph by challenging them to create a new work in just one month. Since 2010, NACHMO has expanded from New York to include Boston, San Francisco, D.C., and other regions.
NACHMO DC began in 2014 through a partnership between Glade and New Street Dance Group. Now in its fifth year, we are excited to continue to help DC artists kick off the new year with dance.
