Join Glade for a day of improvistaion at College Park Arts Exchange!
Workshop 4-6 pm ($10): Improvisation can be a rich way to generate choreography, or it can be the performance itself. Glade Dance Collective members will lead a workshop introducing participants to improvisation techniques and scores, sharing how Glade uses improvisation in dance creation and performance. PLUS, participants will have the opportunity to perform improvisation scores that same evening as part of Glade’s performance. (Performance participation is totally optional. You may participate in the workshop without wanting to perform!) Movers of all levels are invited to participate; ages 12+. Those wishing to perform should wear black pants and a black shirt for performance.
Performance 7-8 pm ($15 suggested donation): Glade celebrates improvisation in its many forms. See Glade perform improvisation scores that are part of larger works, in addition to improvisation scores made to stand on their own.
Join us in welcoming improvising musicians, DoubleSpeak, and improv comedians, Love Onion from Washington Improv Theater, to the stage with us!
Please note: Some College Park Arts Exchange print materials may allude to Glade performing on Oct. 21, but that is a misprint! We will indeed be there on Sunday, Oct. 22.
